| Leica Stereo Explorer | |
|
Since images from the two beam paths of a stereomicroscope are from slightly different perspectives it is possible to extrapolate quantitative 3-D measurement values from these images. Leica Stereo Explorer automatically creates 3D data records from two 2-dimensional stereomicroscope photographs on your monitor. From this data, profiles can be extracted and roughness or undulationcan be determined with high precision. In addition, actual to projected area ratios (fractal dimension) and volumetric calculations of depressions and elevations can be made. Two versions of the Leica Stereo Explorer are available. For those users interested in Leica M-series Stereomicroscopes with manual zooming and focusing, the Stereo Explorer for non-automated scopes (part #33007032) is required. When using this version, current microscope magnification is entered by hand. The second version of the Stereo Explorer supports the Leica MZ16 A motorized stereomicroscope. Dubbed the Stereo Explorer for automated scopes (part #33007033), this version can automatically control the microscope zoom and focus for the fastest, most ergonomic use. |
